The Alliance for America’s Fish & Wildlife and the #ResponsibleRecreation initiative would like to invite you to participate in a Photo Contest showcasing people from around the country joining in the 2021 First Day Hike. This content will run Dec.30th 2020 through January 6th, 2021. First Day Hikes are part of a nationwide initiative led by America’s State Parks to encourage people to get outdoors on the first day of the year. We’re going one step further and challenging people to practice responsible recreation and take a photo of yourself while enjoying a First Day Hike and send it in to our contest. All winners will be featured on the Alliance for America’s Fish & Wildlife social media channels. All entries must be submitted on Facebook as a comment to this post with your picture attached. Preference will be given to those that feature themselves wearing Alliance gear. No hard copies of photographs will be accepted. Enter for your chance to win one of several prizes including cool Alliance gear and a $100 outdoor gear gift card!

Rules
- All entries must be of you, your family and friends, and/or any person so long as you have the consent of all persons appearing in the entries to post their picture on Facebook for the purposes of this contest.
- Photos must be from a hike taken during this photo contest time frame, i.e. between Dec.30th 2020 and January 6th, 2021. There is no minimum requirement of “hike”, we’re simply trying to encourage folks to spend some time outdoors.
- The photo contest judging committee will make selections based on the incorporation of responsible recreation best practices, quality, composition, originality, creativity. Preference will be given to those wearing Alliance gear in your photo. Decisions are final and in sole and absolute discretion of the committee.
- This offer is void where prohibited by law.
- The Alliance is not responsible for lost or misdirected entries.
- Photographers authorize the Alliance for America’s Fish & Wildlife to distribute their image(s) for non-commercial purposes with photo credits—including but not limited to education and news purposes and to share on our social media outlets. Photographers retain copyright to these photos, the above agreed to permissions notwithstanding. *
*Per our terms, the Alliance for America’s Fish & Wildife may post photos online—including the Alliance’s website and social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram after the contest. Do not embed any nonessential personal data into your files.
How to Enter
- Entries must be sent by 11:59 p.m. (EST) on Jan. 6, 2021
- All photos must be submitted on Facebook to win and therefore must adhere to the privacy and content policies of Facebook. Simply post a comment with your photo to the contest announcement post and contest winners will be chosen and notified via Facebook.
