The Association Applauds the Senate for Passage of the Great American Outdoors Act

The Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies is pleased to see passage of the Great American Outdoors Act (S. 3422) through the full Senate yesterday, with a majority vote of 73-25. This historic bipartisan conservation legislation would support State recreation and parks programs, facilitate public access to outdoor recreation on state and federal public lands, and help rebuild much needed federal infrastructure that supports hunting, fishing, boating, and other aspects of the outdoor recreation economy.

The Association Commends the Distribution of Over $35 Million in Funding for Fish Habitat Conservation Projects in 31 States

The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies is pleased to see the National Fish Habitat Partnership program assist in providing more than $35 million to support 95 fish habitat conservation projects in 31 states. This year these projects represent nearly an 8-to-1 match for federal funding with partnership project funding from other sources. Collaborative partnerships between the state fish and wildlife agencies, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, nongovernmental organizations, and other partners are key to implementing these conservation priority projects.

The Association Supports the Conservation Efforts of the National Fish Habitat Partnership’s 2020 “Waters to Watch”

The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies is excited to see the National Fish Habitat Partnership’s 2020 list of “Waters to Watch” representing a snapshot of voluntary, locally driven freshwater, estuarine and marine habitat conservation efforts implemented across the country.
