Wildlife Diseases - Authority & Jurisdiction - Nevada

The Director shall require the personnel of the Department to report to him or her as soon as practicable any reasonable suspicion that a communicable disease may be present in wildlife in Nevada. The Director shall, as soon as possible, inform the Director of the State Department of Agriculture of any reasonable suspicion reported to him or her. Any sample collected by the personnel of the Department in evaluating such a suspicion must be forwarded to the Director of the State Department of Agriculture as soon as practicable.; “Commission” means the Board of Wildlife Commissioners.; “Department” means the Department of Wildlife.; “Director” means the Director of the Department.; 1. The Department shall do all things necessary for the control and eradication of infectious, contagious or parasitic diseases of animals. 2. The Director shall cooperate with the Director of the Department of Wildlife in a program to prevent the spread of communicable diseases in animals in this State.; “Department” means the State Department of Agriculture.; “Director” means the Director of the Department.; The State Quarantine Officer may adopt rules and regulations of the Secretary of Agriculture of the United States relating to the control and suppression of disease in animals, and may cooperate with the Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of Agriculture’s officers in the enforcement of such rules and regulations.; “Animal” means any living creature other than a member of the human race.;
