2023 State & Tribal Wildlife Grants Fly-in

Dates:  Tuesday, April 11- Wednesday, April 12, 2023
Where:
Washington, DC

Purpose: Inform your members of Congress of the importance of the State and Tribal Wildlife Grants Program.

How Does It Work: You set up meetings with your members of Congress and meet with them in their offices on Capitol Hill. You provide examples of priority conservation work funded by the State & Tribal Wildlife Grant Program and communicate the need for funding to conserve fish and wildlife in your state.

Key Members of Congress: Although outreach to all members of Congress is important, especially new members. It’s particularly important to reach members of the House and Senate Interior/Environment Appropriations Subcommittee since they are key to setting appropriation levels for the program. To see if there are members in your state on the subcommittees click HERE for the House and HERE for the Senate.

What is Our ‘ASK’: We need the highest appropriation level possible to proactively conserve over 12,000 species of greatest conservation need to prevent and recover endangered species.

Can’t Come to Washington: You can still get your message across by setting up a meeting in your home state, holding a virtual meeting with staff, sending a letter or an email to staff.
