Leadership/Professional Development Committee

The Leadership and Professional Development Committee creates tools and programs to help state fish and wildlife agencies nurture a new generation of leaders prepared to address current and future conservation needs in their state, region and nationwide.

The committee provides oversight and direction to AFWA's Management Assistance Team (MAT); provides training and consulting to states through a Leadership Development Initiative; and it disseminates leadership development best practices.

The committee also works with the National Conservation Leadership Institute Board of Directors to facilitate state fish and wildlife agency involvement in the Conservation Leadership Institute and provide continuity in leadership development programming.
