International Relations Committee

The International Relations Committee develops AFWA's positions on all appropriate international matters.

The Committee's charge is to develop AFWA positions on all appropriate international matters including agreements, treaties, conventions, regulations and activities of IUCN and its more active affiliates; assists with furthering Canadian and Mexican involvement in the Association; developing relations with Central and South American nations; and exploring contact with nations outside the northern hemisphere. In addition, the committee monitors potential developments on the CITES, Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals, the Convention on Biological Diversity, and others of importance.
