Automated Wildlife Data Systems

Since 1997, AWDS has received all operating funds from grants awarded by the Multistate Conservation Grant Program, enabling all AFWA members to benefit from AWDS’ resources free-of-charge. Because of programming changes within the Multistate Grant Program, AWDS will no longer be able to obtain operational funds from this source, and AWDS does not receive any funds from AFWA general budget or Association membership dues. During its Annual Meeting in September, AFWA’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors voted to continue the AWDS program and to fund it through annual subscription fees paid by AWDS users.

Since January 1, 2005, AWDS has been funded entirely by subscription fees paid by fish and wildlife agencies.

Your annual subscription fee to AWDS (see table below for amount) provides you with access to the program’s new password protected web site that contains a library of downloadable reports; publications; procurement documents; vendor contacts and corporate information; direct links to agency personnel; and access to several national databases. Your annual subscription also entitles you to consulting services from our AWDS coordinator and access to the new services this program will be bringing online in the coming months. If your agency was to outsource for these services, your agency would pay in the tens of thousands dollars – if not more! AWDS offers you these considerable savings by being the only international repository for this information in existence.

How to Subscribe

You can subscribe today by completing one of the downloadable forms and then mailing it to us. We do not currently accept credit cards for subscriptions, so please include a check or money order made payable to AFWA-AWDS with all subscription forms. Thank you for subscribing to AWDS!

Once your subscription form and payment have been received, you will be emailed a user id and password to log onto the new AWDS web site and access all other resources. If you have questions regarding the subscription process, please email the Coordinator at jjohnston@fishwildlife.org.
