2008 Tribute to Fallen Heroes
The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies will pay tribute to those wildlife professionals, Fallen Heroes, who have lost their lives while carrying out their duties to enforce conservation laws and regulations and manage fish and wildlife resources within the past year. For 2008, the year period will be June 1, 2007 through May 31, 2008.
Fallen Heroes will be honored during a moment of reflection at the Association’s Annual Awards banquet. Following the ceremony, the heroes’ names will be listed on the Association’s website and on a plaque in the Association’s Washington, DC office.
Help honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for fish and wildlife conservation.
How to Submit a Commendation
Full members of the Association may submit a Fallen Hero nomination to the Chair of the AFWA Awards Committee, Wayne MacCallum, by June 30, 2008. Please include a brief statement with the name of the individual, name of agency, age, date of passing and cause of death. Also, attach a photo if available.
