Hunting/Shooting Sports Participation Committee

Committee Description

The Hunter Education and Shooting Sports Committee will identify emerging needs, challenges and opportunities for hunter education and the shooting sports, including archery, in North America. To further the perspective and actions of the committee, the chair will seek to actively involve state and provincial governmental members, appropriate federal agencies, representatives of the hunting industry, and shooting and hunting interest groups within the membership of the committee. The committee will have close liaison with the International Hunter Education Association and other IAFWA Committees as appropriate.

The committee will be the Association's principal forum for discussing and identifying IAFWA actions relative to hunter education, shooting range development and the shooting sports and will report its deliberations and recommendations to the IAFWA Executive Committee for its approval so that hunter education and shooting sports programs can be more fully integrated into state, federal and provincial fish and wildlife agencies.
