Fish and Wildlife Trust Funds Committee

Committee Description

The Fish and Wildlife Trust Funds Committee plays a primary role in guiding actions of the Association that maintain and enhance funding for fish and wildlife agencies derived from the Sport Fish Restoration and Wildlife Restoration programs and related Federal Assistance programs. The Committee charge is to: Promote efficient and effective administration of federal assistance funds – Work with federal partners to promote policies and procedures for administration of trust and related funds that provide clear criteria for grants, and maintain reasonable flexibility to allow states to deliver on the promise of enabling legislation and the investment of dollars from anglers, boater, hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts. Insure accountability - Work with states and federal partners to improve system accountability by promoting understanding of and compliance with program policies among partners and providing access to information on use of funds.

Demonstrate success stories - Support state, regional , and national outreach and educational efforts to demonstrate the cycle of success realized through federal assistance programs and the investment of hunter, boater, angler and other outdoor enthusiasts' dollars, with the support of industry, generates increased recreational opportunity, more purchases and more investment in fish and wildlife. 

Help facilitate the timely and accurate accumulation and flow of funds – Work with states, FWS, federal collection agencies and industry partners to ensure clear, fair and effective application of laws and policies that govern the accumulation, investment, flow and allocation of trust and related funds to maximize benefits to fish and wildlife and hunters, anglers, boaters and other outdoor enthusiasts.
