Now Accepting Proposals for the Multistate Conservation Grant Program!

The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies is soliciting proposals for projects to be funded through the 2007 Multistate Conservation Grant Program. Proposals are due by Friday, June 16, 2006 (see the “Announcement of Opportunity” for proposal development and submittal instructions).

The Multistate Conservation Grant Program is intended to address regional or national level priorities of state fish and wildlife agencies. The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (Association) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) cooperatively administer the Multistate Conservation Grant Program, with IAFWA soliciting, selecting, and recommending to the USFWS a “priority list” of projects to be funded. Up to $6 million ($3 million from both the Sport Fish Restoration and Wildlife Restoration Programs) is available each calendar year to fund Multistate Conservation Grants (Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance Number 15-628).

To be eligible, proposals must :

1) Meet the legal requirements for the Multistate Conservation Grant Program (e.g. submitted by an eligible grantee, which is a state or group of states or nongovernmental organizations; benefit 26 states, majority of the states in a region of the USFWS, or a regional association of State fish and wildlife agencies; and benefit sport fish, wild birds, and/or wild mammals).

2) Address one of the four 2007 National Conservation Needs (NCNs).

3) Adhere to the format and requirements for the proposal narrative and budget.

Additional program and application information is provided in the 2007 Multistate Conservation Grant Program's Announcement of Opportunity, which can be found on the Association's Multistate Conservation Grant webpage or directly accessed by clicking here.
